Paul Klee. Not a day without a line
The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts presents a monographic exhibition dedicated to the life and art activity of Paul Klee (1879-1940). At the show timed to the 200 anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Switzerland are exhibited more than 150 oeuvres belonged to the collection of the Paul Klee Centre in Bern, Fondation Beyeler in Basel and other sets of work of Switzerland. The audience will see the masterpieces of painting and graphics created in different periods of artist living and as well unique art objects among them there are herbariums compositions and instruments and photos from Paul Klee studios together with the dolls taken part in the impromprtu theatre puppet show in the Central House of Artists.
The exhibition "Paul Klee. Not a day without a line", in the Gallery of 19th and 20th С. European and American Art, is arranged chronologically and consisits of seven sections and each is dedicated to the significant period of life and art of the artist. That gives a great opportunity to see in details his lifeline and art and the way he grew up as a master. Art theorist and artist Paul Klee faunded his own way of art that "does not just reflect the visible but renders visible secretly revealed". Paul Klee worked at the same time in the figurative and abstract art guided by his intuition and obeying to the specific self - control. For the whole life he kept his word: " Nulla dies sine linea" i.e. "not a day without a line".
