Antique bowl "Porringer"
Antique silver bowl - tureen with a lid of the Edwardian period. The whole bowl is richly decorated with a molten floral ornament and two curly handles, while the lid itself is crowned with a cone of handmade leaves gathered together. The inside of the bowl is covered with gilding. Included is an original wardrobe trunk upholstered in velvet and satin. Manufactured by Carrington and Co., London, 1907.Carrington manufactory was named after its founder John Bodman Carrington in 1873 and positioned itself as a manufacturer of silver and jewelry. In the early 1890s the company was awarded the royal guarantor of Queen Victoria (a kind of quality mark for suppliers of the English Royal Court). And later she also received awards from Prince Albert, Edward VII and George V, as well as Nicholas I and II and the Russian Queen Alexandra.
