Tanuki is a Japanese werewolf with the appearance of a raccoon dog. Tanuki is able to take the form of different animals and objects. According to Japanese lore, tanuki have magical powers and often use their powers to harm or manipulate people. Despite their playful and mischievous natures, tanukis are also considered protectors of forests and nature. They often help travelers and wanderers, and can punish evil people who harm the environment.
