Скульптура «Забвение»
Antique sculpture "Oblivion". Bronze, bone, marble. Sculptor: Georges Duvernet. France, the middle of the XX century.
Georges Duvernet (1870-1955) was a French sculptor, one of the brightest representatives of the Art Deco style. He became famous thanks to sculptures made in the chrysoelephantine technique — a combination of bronze and bone. He mainly created images of women, including nudes. The most significant works of the author are sculptures "Oblivion" (Oblivion) and "Dancer with three Rings" (Dancer with three Rings).
His works are elegant, aristocratic, combine minimalism and luxury — all that makes the Art Deco style so attractive!
