Kauba Karl (1865-1922) is an Austrian sculptor, a small plastic artist. Born in Vienna, received a good art education at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. He traveled a lot in France and America.
The polychrome finish, the finer details, the realistic forms of his sculptures made him one of the most famous masters of Viennese bronze.
Since he worked in several foundries and focused not only on the European market, but also on the US market, you may come across identical sculptures with different brands: T.Curts or Karl Thenn. He personally directed the process of casting bronze products from his models in Viennese factories.
He gained world fame as the author of original sculptures and genre compositions that reproduce the ethnographic appearance of the American Indians and everyday scenes from the life of the Wild West.
