Antique showcase Empire style
Antique showcase in Empire style. Mahogany, varnish. The legs are united by a bronze crossbar, which supports the main part. A bronze palmette decorates the upper part of the supporting columns, and bronze ram's heads are at the base. Robert Adam was the first to use the ram's head element for decorating furniture, but initially they were, of course, used to decorate altars. The showcase is open, complemented by glass shelves. France, XIX-XX centuries.
