Vintage vase "Sakura"
Vintage vase "Sakura". Made of porcelain, decorated with a painting in the form of a blossoming sakura tree. The marking confirms that the vase was made in the workshops of Fukagawa - Fukagawa Seiji. The vase comes with a "native" tomobako - a box for storage, transportation and exposition with the author's signature (the so-called "herbal writing" or "cao-shu"). The wardrobe trunk is made of paulownia, a tree that practically does not react to changes in humidity and temperature. Japan, XX century
Fukagawa Seiji was founded by ceramist Fukagawa Chuji (1871-1934). The workshops themselves are located in the Arita region, which is famous for its beautiful high-quality white porcelain. Fukagawa served as a supplier to the Japanese Imperial Household.
