Paired sculpture "Ebisu and Daikoku"
Antique paired sculptural composition of two gods of happiness - Ebisu and Daikoku. Japan, 20th centuryPorcelain, painted with polychrome paints, glaze, gilding, silver. The god Ebisu is traditionally depicted with a carp, which can only be caught by a skilled fisherman; carp brings good luck. God Daikoku is depicted on bags of rice, with a mallet that summons monetary energy and a mouse that gnaws holes in the bags so that the rice crumbles: where the rice spills, there will be prosperity and wealth.
