Antique panels are made by applique elements of mother-of-pearl and bone on a wooden surface. Board finish is black lacquer. In the lower right corner is a hieroglyph, a sign of authorship.

The Japanese genre of painting "Flowers and Birds" has its own name - kachoga (花鳥画).

Unlike the Chinese huangyao, kachioga is subdivided into sub-genres: kachioga (flowers and birds), kakiga (flowers), sochiuga (insects), and reymoga (pets).

In Japan, the theme of "flowers and birds" is one of the main themes in painting - yamato-e. Such decorative elements were intended for the interiors of dignitaries, court nobility, for the residences of wealthy merchants.
