Japanese pair vases in yusen-sippo technique
Antique pair vases "Cranes". Made in the laborious technique of yusen-sippo (the so-called Japanese cloisonne). Unlike the common Chinese cloisonne, sippo is more labor-intensive. The background of such products is plain and does not contain visible metal partitions, while on the Chinese cloisonne one can easily see the contours of metal partitions. Most often, the background for the main yusen-sippo pattern is monochromatic (light blue, blue or black), and the pattern itself was with complex color transitions. Japan, 19th century.
