Antique sculpture "Virgin Mary". Bronze, marble. France, XIX century.
The Mother of God, she is Madonna, is depicted here calm and thoughtful. On her face - goodness, in her eyes - a prayer for the salvation of all who turn to her and unlimited, unconditional motherly love.
There are two engravings on the sculpture. O. Ruffoni, Italian master (1846-1925). Among the famous works is a sculptural portrait of Joan of Arc, Napoleon Bonaparte. Ruffoni's works can be found at international auctions, their number is limited. Also, there is an engraving by Montua Pari, whose craftsmen specialized mainly in religious themes, creating crucifixes from silver and bronze.
