"Putti" are babies, translated from Italian, this is one of the most common images in the Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo styles. Their prototype is cupids with wings, erotes. Usually, cupids were the personification of the male soul. With the spread of Christianity, putti began to be associated with angels, and from the 18th century the term was sometimes replaced by the designation "amurette" or "cupid".
