Mario Badioli is an Italian sculptor working with Murano glass. He was born in Venice in 1940. At the age of 14, he became an apprentice to master glassblower Ermanno Nason at the Mazzega company. From 1958 to 1960, he studied at the Institute of Fine Arts in Venice, while continuing to work at Mazzega, but as a junior master. His first experience as a maestro came in 1968, when he moved to the Fratelli Pitau company, and later moved to the Oball company. In 1984, he opened his own glass workshop and focused on creating glass sculptures.
