Antique sculpture "God Ebisu with fish"
Antique sculpture "God Ebisu with a fishing rod and fish". Made of spelter. The composition consists of two parts: the figure of Ebisu is attached to a rock-shaped stand using special pins. Japan, 20th century. Ebisu is one of the seven gods of luck in Shintoism, the god of fishing and labor, and the guardian of the health of young children. Depicted with a Tai fish. Sometimes he acts as the patron saint of fishermen. The sacred Tai fish is a symbol of good luck and spiritual achievements: it is very difficult to catch a carp with bare hands in the water - it is also difficult to achieve peace of mind, harmony and enlightenment.
