Vintage poster "Applause" by Erté. Print with 3D foil stamping. The series was produced in a limited edition after the artist's posthumous exhibition in Paris. 1990s.

Erté's original series of silkscreen prints (Roman Tyrtov) was created in 1987 in a limited edition and published by Chalk & Vermilion Fine Arts. His famous silkscreen prints (serigraphs) were created between the 1970s and 1980s, based on signature sketches from the 1920s and 1930s, but this technique gave them a completely new, contemporary feel. The silkscreen technique allowed for the use of gold and silver inks, embossing, and complex textures. Erté typically commissioned approximately 300-500 copies of each image. It is known that the artist ensured that all the printing stencils were destroyed after the series was completed.

Erté (1892–1990), also known as Roman Tyrtov, has earned the unofficial title of "the father of Art Deco." Leaving Russia for France in 1912, he brought glamour and sophistication to fashion, theater, film, and design. Moving to Paris, he worked with couturier Paul Poiret before launching a distinguished career as an illustrator, designer, and artist. His iconic Harper's Bazar covers defined Art Deco elegance, while his theatrical costumes and Hollywood sets elevated contemporary spectacle to new heights. Rediscovered in the 1960s, Erté was featured in an exhibition of gouaches acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1967, cementing his place in the artistic canon. Since the 1970s, he has expanded his practice to create limited edition silkscreens and bronze sculptures – innovative works often incorporating embossing, metallic foil and dramatic backgrounds.
