German modernist architect and designer Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is the first representative of the "international style" and one of the leaders of the Bauhaus school. Born in 1886 in provincial Aachen (a city on the border of Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands) in the family of a stone heelman, Ludving Mies learned to build and construct from an early age. In 1905, rising to his feet, he moved to Berlin, where he works in an architectural office. Through his work, he meets Walter Gropius and Le Corbusier - and they gain experience. In 1911-1912, Misa was entrusted with the construction of the German embassy in St. Petersburg. The architect considered that the correct surname would allow him to find more prosperous customers, so he adds to his mother’s name (Roe) and the aristocratic “van der”. In 1913, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe opened his own bureau. He participates in the construction of the Weissenhof village, which is comfortable for life, the German Pavilion at the World Exhibition in Barcelona in 1929 (by the way, the most famous model of Mees Designer - the Barcelona chair) was developed for the German Pavilion. Already after moving to the United States, he builds the campus of the Illinois Institute of Technology, Siegram Building in New York, IBM Plaza in Chicago, several skyscrapers in Toronto. Mies's latest work was the building of the New National Gallery in Germany.
