Kolesnikov Sergey Mikhailovich (1889-1952) - painter, engraver. The work of Kolesnikov, who emigrated to Germany in 1925, is little known to the general public.The son of a Russian and a Mongol. He studied in St. Petersburg at the school of E. N. Zvantseva with L. S. Bakst and M. V. Dobuzhinsky. Participated in the Moscow exhibition "World of Art" (1921).

In 1925 he emigrated to Germany. He lived in Berlin, where he performed etchings and colored linocuts, painted.He participated in the Russian Art Exhibition in America (1924/1925), in the Russian department of international exhibitions in Pittsburgh (1925) and New York (1926), the group exhibition of Russian emigrant artists organized by the Society for the Study of Eastern Europe in Cologne (1929), and The exhibition of Soviet art in Berlin (1930).In 1943 he settled in Saxony, in Weiksdorf. Presented in museums in Russia and in the engraving room of the British Museum.
