He graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Paris. The artist's paintings were often exhibited at the Salons from 1838 to 1868. The most eminent connoisseur of the author's works was Emperor Napoleon III. In the process of creativity, he opened his own school-studio, where he taught painting.
