Antique bookcase
Antique Louis XVI style bookcase. Several types of wood were used in the manufacture of this magnificent cabinet: mahogany, satin, rosewood, amaranth and sycamore. Richly decorated with gilded bronze decor. Beveled glasses. This cabinet was produced in the Faubourg-Saint-Antoine quarter in the 1880s. France, XIX century.
Faubourg Saint-Antoine was the main working suburb in Paris, where there were artisan workshops, including carpentry workshops. The most beautiful furniture of the era of Louis XIV, XV and XVI was produced here. And in our times on the rue Faubourg-Saint-Antoine there are still ancient workshops where cabinetmakers work.
