Vintage sculptural composition "Fire, shadow, partial shade". Made of patinated bronze. On the base there is the signature of the French sculptor "Ipoustéguy". The artist's works are presented in the catalog "Ipoustéguy, the sculpted work, catalog raisonné", 1938-2000. France, 1982.

The real name of the French sculptor is Jean Robert. He was born in the small town of Denis-sur-Meuse in northeastern France to a carpenter's family. Jean received a good education, read a lot and painted, and also played in theatrical performances and studied music. The future sculptor was greatly influenced by his school teacher, who took students to the Louvre and tried in every possible way to broaden the horizons of his wards. Subsequently, Jean Robert said that he was a happy man who had the opportunity to learn from two fathers at once. At 18, he moved to Paris, where he enrolled in an evening painting course with Robert Lebouny. His training was interrupted by the Second World War and mobilization to the front. After the war, he devoted himself to restoring the stained glass windows in the commune of Montrouge.

Beginning in 1949, Jean Robert changed his priorities, he concentrated on sculpture and at one time even lived in an abandoned ceramics factory, using it as a workshop. In fact, Jean was self-taught, having acquired knowledge in museums and in evening courses, and it was thanks to his originality that he took a place among the famous French sculptors. After a while, he had a real breakthrough - Jean's works began to be exhibited at the prestigious Salon de Mai. With a hint from one of the curators and organizers of the exhibition, Henri Georges Adam, Jean Robert took the pseudonym Jean-Robert Ipustegui, adding his mother's maiden name to the official name. Another important stage was Ipustegi's trip to Greece, where he plunged into the world of antiquity and worked in the Carrara quarries. Since then, the influence of the Renaissance and the detailing of the plasticity of the human body have been read in all of his works, including in the first large order for the international congress center in Berlin "A man builds his city". Jean-Robert Ipustegui continued to work until 1994.
