Jose Maria David (1944-2015) - French sculptor, was born in the Loire-Atlantique in France, near one of the ducal hunting grounds. This environment had a huge impact on him and made him get carried away with art, animals and nature. Until 1986, he worked as an antiques dealer by profession, and only later, he decided to devote himself to the art of sculpture, the creation of animalistic works.

He is considered one of the greatest animal sculptors of his time and a master of the new school of animals.The author had a special skill in portraying the strength and dynamism of animals and became especially well known for his portrayal of big cats.
