Antique garden bench
Antique cast iron bench in the style of Napoleon III. The model of this bench was created and manufactured by Jean-Jacques Duchelle around 1850. Cast iron casting. France, XIX century.
The Ducel Foundry was established in 1810 and was managed by three generations of Duchelles: Jacques, Jean-Jacques and Jacques-Gustav, until it was acquired by the Val d'Osne foundry in 1878.
The Val d'Osne company itself was a foundry founded in 1835 by Jean Pierre Andre Victor, the inventor of the cast-iron ornamental technology. Initially, his goal was to manufacture outdoor furniture and decorative cast iron, the company quickly became the largest cast iron manufacturer in France called Val d'Osne art Foundry.Val d'Osne factories have repeatedly participated in world art exhibitions and received various awards.
