Antique plate
An antique plate. It is made of porcelain, decorated with underglaze and overglaze paintings. The workshops of Kutani, the Meiji era. Japan, the twentieth century.
The scene on the platter depicts the meeting of the Korean envoys with the Japanese Empress Jingu, who led a three-year military campaign in Korea and returned to Japan with victory. The parliamentarians show respect for the Empress and her military wisdom.
