Levkas is the name of the soil, which is chalk mixed with animal or fish glue with the addition of linseed oil. It is applied in several layers on the primed surface (in this case, on a tree). At the same time, the better the preservation of the levkas, the thinner and more uniform the applied layers were. After drying, the work is sanded.

The crane is one of the most blessed birds, the embodiment of wisdom and nobility. It symbolizes prosperity, family happiness, immortality.
