Antique pair vases from Johann Seltmann Porcelain Manufactory. The vases are made of porcelain and have a gilded rim. Decorated with a painting depicting birds on a sakura branch. Germany, second half of the 20th century.Johann Seltmann and his brother Christian Seltmann founded the company in 1901. The factory was located in the German city of Vohenstrauss. The brothers worked together but separated in 1909. Then Christian founded his own factory in Weiden. But the manufacture continued to grow. In 1921, after the death of Johann, the management of the company passed to his sons - Robert and Christian. After the Great Patriotic War, the manufactory was closed due to damage to the factory buildings. But by 1949 it resumed production. In 1993 Johann Seltmann GmbH merged with Schirnding AG and J. Kronester GmbH to form SKV-Porzellan-Union GmbH. But in 1995, the new company decided to close the business.
