Bronze sculpture "Aesthete". Art casting, patina. The author's work of Sergei Alexandrovich Falkin.

Aestheticism was a pronounced feature of the culture of the Silver Age - a time of decadence and individualism. The era, which was characterized by the emergence of a wide layer of enlightened art lovers with a special perception and feeling of the world around.

The new bronze work by Sergei Falkin is an image of a man admiring the beautiful, gone to the past. This is an esthete who is in a certain melancholy due to the fact that all the best has already been composed in poetry, written in painting, created in art. His gracefully wrinkled fingers and upturned gaze convey, along with longing for spiritual ideals, the hope for the liberation of art from materialistic concerns and for the return of the cult of beauty and those forms of self-expression in art that correspond to the complex worldview of man.
