Antique cassette (cassette). Stone, bronze, gilding. Europe, XX century

Cassoletta was originally an incense urn, akin to an incense burner, only they were equipped with a wine lamp that evaporated scented water. Cassolettes are decorative objects in the form of small vases, often made of precious metal, often with a lid used to evaporate perfume. Also, it is a decorative element, an ornament depicting a vase from which a flame escapes (here these are decorative small elements on the lids), which is carved on many pieces of furniture of the late 18th century.
