Antique card table, Louis Philippe
Antique card table in the Louis Philippe style. Mahogany, carving, cloth. The table rests on a tripod in the shape of three animal paws. The leg is made in the form of a twisted column. The card table appeared in Spain in the 16th century as a special place for playing the popular card game ombre. Ombre was supplanted by preference and whist, but the idea of a folding table for games is still alive. Europe, XIX century
