Antique bookcase in the Regency style. It consists of five descending shelves and columns reinforced with longitudinal elements. The vertical and horizontal parts are completed with pointed violets, giving the subject a pronounced Regency style. Europe, XIX century.

A bookcase, or a tiered stand, as full-fledged utility furniture, appeared at the end of the XVIII century. It was originally used to store books and music, and only then, in the Victorian period, the bookcase gained popularity as a location for decorative objects.
