Daikoku in mythology is the patron of the hearth, the guarantee of happiness, wealth, protection from evil energy. He is depicted with a mallet in his hands and a sack of rice, sometimes he himself stands on bales of rice. The god Daikoku is a lover of life, a merry fellow, a kind soul, loves dancing. During the dance, he hits with a mallet, which drives away evil creatures, and calls wealth, dreams, hope into the house. Rice in his sacks is wealth from heaven, a rat must gnaw holes in his sacks so that rice falls into the hands of those who ask for help.
