Antique four-leaf screen in the Renaissance style. Wood, embossed leather, painting, rivets - metal. Western Europe, 19th century.Leather screens were quite popular in their time, as were metal forged screens, silk screens with rich inlays, they often depicted landscapes, gallant scenes, scenes from everyday life. Screen in German means a screen or shield, but in everyday life it plays both a decorative and functional role.
