Gouache on paper, signed lower left: Pougny.This work dates from the Berlin period (1921-1924), is a personal work by I.A. Pougny, and is of collector and museum interest.In 1921, I.A. Puni and his wife, Ksenia Boguslavskaya, moved from Finland to Berlin and actively participated in the cultural life and theatrical activities of the Russian émigré community. They designed theatrical productions and numbers at the Berlin cabaret "Blue Bird," "Carousel," "Renaissance Theater," and other companies, for one of which this work was created.
