Porcelain sculpture, Royal Dux, by Jitka Forejtová, Czechoslovakia, 1960s.

The sculpture "Girl with a Vase" was created for the Royal Dux manufactory by one of the key figures of Czech modernism, Jitka Forejtová.The abstract female figure with its deliberately generalized features and fluid, almost sculptural line reflects the aesthetics of Czechoslovakian design of the 1960s, influenced by the "Brussels Style" and post-war modernism. The white glossy glaze emphasizes the purity of the silhouette and makes the piece versatile for any interior. Forejtová is known for her laconic, architectural forms and works at the intersection of art and object design; her models for Royal Dux are now considered standalone collector's items of the mid-century modern era. Original Royal Dux Bohemia factory marks on the base.
