The sculpture depicts the famous American-French dancer, actress and singer - Josephine Baker in one of her incredible outfits performing the Charleston dance. During World War II, she performed in front of the French troops, supporting and raising their military spirit, and participated in the Resistance movement. She was awarded the Order of the Legion of Honor. On April 12, 1975, Josephine died and became the first American woman to be buried with military honors in France.
