Louis Majorelle (1859-1926) - an outstanding French decorator of the early XX century. Louis worked at the School of Fine Arts until 1877, and then took over the management of the family manufactory in Nancy, specializing in the production of furniture and faience. Items Majorelle exhibited at many prestigious exhibitions, including the d'Art Décoratif. But the firm reached its peak in 1900 by taking part in the World Expo: after that, the Majorelle stores were opened in Nancy, Paris, Lyon and Lille.
