Geoffrey Saint-Hilaire (1772-1844) - French zoologist, pioneer of 17 new genera and species of mammals. He pointed out to humanity the existence of 25 genera and species of reptiles and amphibians. He was a progressive reformer in the field of systematics and comparative anatomy of vertebrates, the founder of the doctrine of "organic analogies" in vertebrates.
