Antique sculpture "Pierrot with a mandolin", made in the chryso-elephantine technique in the Art Deco style. Bronze, bone, base - onyx. Signed by K. Mimo. (Claudio Mimo Blasco, 1887-1959), XX century.

The chrysoelephantine technique was characteristic of antiquity. The objects were made of wood, the visible parts of the sculptures were made of bone. A famous master who worked in this technique was Demeter Chiparus, whose works can be seen in museums and private collections.

Claudio Mimo Blasco is a Spanish professional sculptor who also worked in the chrysoelephantine technique. His works are few, but they can sometimes be found at auctions.
