Vintage box made using the Hiramaki technique - e (). Japan, 20th century, this technique is used to coat a lacquer product with gold. The pattern is transferred to the surface, then painted with varnish and gold powder is sprinkled while the varnish is still wet. Next is polishing and another layer of varnish.The box has a special feature: it can be used either in one tier with four drawers, or divided into two parts; the set includes a second lid. The kit includes a tomobako (special storage case).
