Japan, 20th century.Kutani is one of the three main and most famous trends in Japanese artistic porcelain/ceramics. Workshops are located in Ishikawa Prefecture, primarily in the Kutani region, literally translated as "nine valleys." Numerous workshops located near the city of Kaga masterfully crafted porcelain, becoming synonymous with Japanese porcelain. Kutani ceramics were exhibited at world exhibitions in Vienna and Paris and were truly significant for the entire ceramic world.
