Rustam Usmanovich Khamdamov (b. 1944) is a film director, screenwriter, artist, and member of the Russian Academy of Arts. He graduated from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK). During his creative career, he received many prestigious film awards. He was recognized as the best artist in the world (1991-1996, Paris). He has participated in numerous Russian and international exhibitions. He has contributed to jewelry designs for fashion houses in Milan, Paris, and New York.

The artist's works are included in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Zimmerli Museum of Rothker University (USA), the National Gallery of Ravenna, and numerous private collections worldwide. In 2003, R. Khamdamov became the first Russian artist in history to have his works accepted into the Hermitage’s contemporary collection during his lifetime.
