Antique okimono "Kinjiro"
Antique okimono "Kinjiro". It is made of bone. There is a seal. Asia, XX century.
The seal - Qianlong乾隆 (meaning "enduring elevation"), became the name of the reign period (1736-1795). Qianlong was the sixth Manchu emperor and the fourth emperor of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
Kinjiro was born at the end of the XVIII century in a bankrupt Japanese family. Having suffered the loss of his parents, the teenager was forced to take care of his younger sisters. The young man combined hard work with a love of reading: going to the mountains for firewood, he read books right on the go. As a result, Kenjiro's love of knowledge and work allowed him to become an economist, agronomist and philosopher, known as Ninomiya Sontoku. Such a person has become an ideal example for Japanese schoolchildren. Monuments to the boy with a bundle of firewood and a book began to appear all over the country from the beginning of the XX century.
