Antique vase. Made of porcelain, covered with intricate hand-painted scenes from the life of samurai. At the bottom there is a marking from the Kinkōzan workshop: "Kinkōzan 錦光山". Japan, late XIX – early XX centuries.

The Kinkozan family of masters went down in history as five generations of masters creating works in the Satsuma style. The first workshop was founded in 1645 in Kyoto. In addition to production, representatives of the Kinkozan family themselves collected rare porcelain: their personal collection included tea bowls and other personal porcelain of the Tokugawa shogun. The collection remained in the family for almost the entire Edo period. After the Meiji Restoration they continued to produce fine Satsuma wares until the workshop was closed in 1927.
