Ksitigarbha is one of the most revered Bodhisattvas in Far Eastern Buddhism.
He made a vow not to become a Buddha until all the living are saved.
Ksitigarbha's special field of activity is the hellish worlds, as it is there that sentient beings suffer the most and need support. It is believed that Ksitigarbha's power and accumulated merits are unimaginable.
