Vintage sculpture "Buddha". Made of bronze and decorated with polychrome enamel in the cloisonné technique. Buddha is almost always depicted with long ears, which are considered a sign of longevity and belonging to the royal family. Also present are traditional elements of Buddhist iconography: ushnisha (a protrusion on the head confirming that the person has achieved enlightenment) and an urn (a point on the forehead symbolizing spiritual vision). Asia, 20th century.

The cloisonné enamel technique originated in China in the 14th century. Products made in this technique gained unprecedented popularity in the 17th century and were used mainly to decorate imperial palaces and temples. Today, art objects made in the cloisonné enamel technique adorn modern interiors, giving them a bright oriental flavor.
