Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky (1877-1926) is a prominent Soviet state and party figure. The permanent chairman of the Cheka (a special security body of the Soviet state), and after the rebuke of the Cheka and the chairman of the Main Political Administration under the NKVD of the RSFSR. Dzerzhinsky was an unconditional, ambiguous figure and at the same time the legendary creator of Soviet security and intelligence organs. And it is precisely the “Iron Felix” that we remember according to the historical phrase: “The Chekist should always have a hot heart, cold head and clean hands.”
