Hanuman is a deity, an avatar of Shiva, the god of vanaras (half-humans, half-monkeys), appearing in the form of a monkey, the son of the god of wind Vayu, one of the heroes of the epic "Ramayana", devoted to Rama. Hanuman studied with the god Surya.Hanuman is the personification of a warrior, strength, fortitude, power. He is able to turn into any form, he is identified with a developed anahata chakra. He is not just a brave warrior, he is also a wise warrior. Hanuman is usually depicted to the right of the frame and Sita in the epic, his hands are folded in the "namaste" gesture. When he is depicted alone, he always has a weapon with him - a mace or vajra - a divine weapon that connects swords, spears and maces. The literal translation of vajra is diamond, a symbol of spirit and its fortitude. Hanuman is often depicted holding a piece of a mountain with healing herbs in his hands.
