Brothers Charles and Ernest Schneider opened their glass factory in 1913 a few kilometers from Paris and gave it the name Schneider Freres et Wolff. After working at Daum and becoming versatile and brilliant designers, they began to produce a wide range of excellent crystal glass products. They have achieved significant success in the production and sale of their products both in Paris and abroad. But the depression of the 1930s became a problem for Schneider that they were never able to overcome and in 1939 the company was forced to declare bankruptcy. But the family's history continued in 1949, when Charles Schneider and his sons opened a new glass factory calling it Cristallerie Schneider. They began producing luxury blown crystal items in small batches and did this until 1981, when the company was finally closed.
