History mirrors the phenomena of everyday life, both with science and art. Chance, in its reflection, a man first appears on the surface of the water. The earliest mirrors were polished stone, obsidian, volcanic glass. Many of them have been discovered in Turkey and are at least 6,000 years old. In ancient Egypt, polished copper was used to make mirrors, often the round surface was decorated with ornaments. In China, mirrors are made from metal alloys as well as metal mirrors, also called polished bronze mirrors. Metal alloys or mirrors made of precious metals were very valuable items in the Middle Ages, available to a very wealthy population.
