Karl-Henning Pedersen is a Danish expressionist artist of the 20th - early 21st century, who worked in the spirit of primitives, on subjects and in the manner of children's drawings.The multi-talented Pedersen, to whom the nickname "Scandinavian Chagall" stuck, was one of the leading artists of Denmark in the second half of the 20th century. During his more than 70-year career, he created a huge legacy belonging to many genres: he performed monumental mosaic panels, ceramic friezes to decorate building facades, worked as a sculptor, stained glass artist, graphic artist, watercolorist, vase painter. But his main contribution is easel paintings on canvas.

Airy, joyful and poetic paintings with an unusually musical sense of color. His painting is strongly reminiscent of Chagall's, but it looks more relaxed, flying and fabulous!

Pedersen's exhibition activity lasted more than 50 years. In 1950 he received the Eckersberg medal from the Danish Academy of Fine Arts. In 1958 he was awarded the Guggenheim Prize; in 1962 he officially represented Denmark at the Venice Biennale. In 1963, he was awarded the Thorvaldsen Medal in his homeland (this is the highest award in the field of fine arts, which is awarded by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Denmark).
