Antique vase
Antique vase. Made of ceramics in the technique of celadon glaze (celadon). Japan, XX century.
Celadon glaze (sometimes celadon ceramics) are products with a trace gray, and sometimes a pale blue cap, evenly covered with expressive craquelure. For the first time, celadon glaze came into fashion in China in the second half of the 10th century. The Chinese nobility ordered pottery, reminiscent of the color of a rare shade of jade, covered with cracks. Over time, pale blue ceramic vases and bowls appeared in Korea in the 16th century, and later in Japan. Toyotomi Hideyoshi (Japanese military figure who unified Japan), after two failed attempts to conquer Korea, captivated ceramists, among whom, so to speak, were masters who mastered the art of creating celadon dishes.
